I don’t believe about this study which revealed that women speak 20000 words and men about 7000 words. I don’t know how Brizendine carried out this study. I have heard about many studies where it is shown that number of words spoke by both men and women are comparable. But these studies were carried out on university students. May be it holds true for young genrations! I think that study came in light so much because somewhere culturally we also think tht way!

Oh did not know that the study was done in the university..but somehow I do think that even if this was done at a different age group too, in terms of number of words/sentences woman might be more than men.

Women wants to be understood, so may be for this they are more expressing. For eye contact, it is true………I also think we Indians lack in making eye-contact. Even in my company also, I have seen many people when talk to employees who are from outside India, they don’t make much eye contact. It is more when conversation is between men and women.

Well I believe both men and women want to be understood, but women are far more expressing, and detailed in their communication. Hmm I think even when men and men converse there is no eye contact

I don’t think so, men use facial expressions! But there is something in their behavior………I don’t know which word to use……….and I feel we women are good at this. Thats why, we can make out many times what’s going in other’s mind. May be God has given us the power. But don’t think that I biased.
About touching, I feel men and women are alike.

This I am curious..may be as I said before men do not notice other’s facial expression..would try to see if it is really true..If I do have some facial expressions .. Hmm do you think that men and women value the touch similarly..I would be surprised.

I never felt that communication can differ according to gender. May be in our culture we have inclined ourselves to think on this. Everytime I have talked to my friends (both girls and boys), I never felt this differene.

One thing I do agree with that they said initially, most men I’ve known do indeed talk a lot less than women. It’s one of the things about men that can be so frustrating, trying to get them to ‘open up’. in that respect, I thought this article was spot on.

CR, hmm yep I have seen many women, and men cross legs..Its like that awkard feeling I have not knowing where to keep my hands when talking lol…we end up crossing legs almost like default.
